August Fiedler and the Stately Interiors of the 1870s and 1880s

  • Glessner House Museum 1800 South Prairie Avenue Chicago, IL, 60616 United States

Art historian Rolf Achilles will explore the characteristic architecture and interiors of several important Gilded Age mansions designed by W. August Fiedler, including the Nickerson Mansion (now the Driehaus Museum) and the Hegeler-Carus Mansion in LaSalle, Illinois.

Fiedler was a contemporary and sometimes collaborator with our own Isaac Scott, and made at least one piece of furniture in the Glessner collection.
