Courtyard Concert: Groove Alley

  • Glessner House 1800 South Prairie Avenue Chicago, IL, 60616 United States (map)

Pack your picnic, grab your blanket, and chill your favorite beverages, it's time for Courtyard Concerts at Glessner House.  Are you ready for a new gathering spot for an evening of fun with neighbors and friends, laughter, and music?  The beautiful private courtyard is the perfect setting to enjoy some great local music and relax while dining al fresco on the lawn.

Our final concert will feature Groove Alley, a Chicago-based jazz combo that plays contemporary and retro groove arrangements.  Their rhythms create a hip, funky vibe that’s good for the soul.  For years, Groove Alley has been creating a lively, jammin’ jazz sound that pays homage to music masters such as Herbie Hancock, John Scofield, Marcus Miller, Joshua Redman, Kenny Garrett, Roy Hargrove, The Crusaders and many others.

Groove Alley will put you in a happy place with its blend of guitar, bass, drums, trumpet and alto sax instrumentation…all jammin' together to generate kinetic energy from their audiences.

Additional concerts will take place as follows:
July 25 - Emily Hurd
August 29 - 18th Street Jazz Quartet
We look forward to seeing you at the Courtyard Concerts!

Doors open at 5:30pm, concert begins at 6:00pm.
