American Architecture and Landscape Field Trip Program
Glessner House Museum is proud to announce the continued partnership with the Society of Architectural Historians for the 2017-2018 school year. Utilizing a grant of from the Society's American Architecture and Landscape Field Trip Program, the Museum will offer tours of Glessner House Museum to third grade students from underserved neighborhoods on Chicago's South Side. Tours will examine how architecture and design impact our every day lives, and will give students the opportunity to explore and learn from the perspective of the various people who would have occupied and visited the house during the Glessners' occupancy. A historically-based craft activity will allow students to take what they learned about design to create their own piece combining 19th century origins with a 21st century twist.
