Gingerbread Architecture Competition

25.00

Tuesday December 5, 2017

6:30 - 9:00pm

Show off your cookie construction skills at our 2017 Gingerbread Architecture Competition!

Join us for this fun, interactive event.  You don’t need to bring anything – just show up and create.  We’ll supply all the materials and refreshments.  You’ll have two hours to realize your confectionary architectural masterpiece.  No experience with gingerbread construction?  No problem.  Unfamiliar construction technology has never stopped architects before!

Prizes will be awarded for the top two structures, and the winning entries will remain on display throughout December.  The contest is co-sponsored by AIA Chicago.  All proceeds will support ongoing preservation activities at Glessner House, Henry Hobson Richardson’s masterpiece of urban residential design.

Schedule of activities:
6:30pm: Check-in; materials handout; build time begins
8pm – 8:30pm: Judging
8:30pm: Awards and reception
