STUDY TOUR: 20th Century Architecture in West Lafayette and Columbus Indiana
SOLD OUT! Our 2026 study tour will explore significant examples of 20th century architecture in West Lafayette and Columbus, Indiana. West Lafayette features Samara, a National Historic Landmark and one of Frank Lloyd Wright’s most complete sites, and the former Purdue State Bank, one of Louis H. Sullivan’s iconic “jewel box” banks. Columbus, known as “Athens on the Prairie,” contains an assemblage of modern architecture and public art, initiated through the efforts of J. Irwin Miller, whose Cummins Foundation funded architect’s fees for new buildings, provided the owners selected a firm from a list compiled by the foundation.
